WikiLeaks: The Exposure of Secret Information, Just or Unjust?

For obvious reasons of sensationalism, multitudes of news networks and print media forums are full of reports about "WikiLeaks". You may have heard about what happened, if not please read up on this important topic on the Internet.  It is an interesting phenomenon which inspired us to write down a few thoughts.

Is this situation the execution of biblical truth that "whatever is hidden and done in the darkness will be shouted from the rooftops"? Or is WikiLeaks an unjust system which truly deserves to be shut down? Time Magazine stated this about WikiLeaks, "(WikiLeaks) Could become as important a journalistic tool as the Freedom of Information Act".

What strikes us as interesting is this: The founder of WikiLeaks, who by the way exposed numerous people of power, wealth and influence and their rather embarrassing secrets, was recently busted upon alleged stories of past crimes. Only one day after his rather embarrassing "WikiLeaks" were published, Interpol and other joint authorities started to hunt him down, his Internet domain was "confiscated" (stolen?) and his site was promptly shut down.

Do you believe that authorities have the right to do something like this? Where does it start and where does it end? Who determines the line between the public's right to information and what constitutes endangering spills of information? Which government, which authority has the right to censorship on the internet? Do you believe he did something wrong, or do you believe he exercised righteousness by publishing materials which exposed immoral acts and injustice performed by people in power? What is your opinion? We would love to know. Post it below.

Mic 6:8  'He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you but to do justice and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?'

Some folk pay the ultimate price in terms of the truth - John the baptist lost his head for it, and Jesus his life too.

Whenever the truth is applied as an instrument of justice, then it ought to be disclosed and there should never be an ulterior motive for it. In God's love for justice, mercy and humilty, he will move to have the truth disclosed for that very reason, so that 'the rain may fall on both the good and the evil'.

I agree with Time Magazine: "(WikiLeaks) Could become as important a journalistic tool as the Freedom of Information Act".

Yes, I agree. The truth needs to be told. But the question is - who determines what the truth is, and: is everything that is true about people's private life the "property" of everyone else? Do I have the right to know everything about everyone else? I think the problem is that we don't have an authority in this world's system that has the right to determine, what truth is and what is property of the public.
