According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, which is based on its Football Power Index, Utah has a 78.1-percent chance to win the matchup between the two teams. The spread also favors the Utes.
Spread: Utah -14.5
Game Time: 2:00 p.m. ET
Channel: Pac-12 Network
Utah vs. Oregon preview:
The Utes have been a consistent force in the Pac-12 South for a few years now, and are a dangerous team at home. The 2016 Oregon Ducks…not so much.
Utah features one of the best stories of the college football season in running back Joe Williams. He was brought out of football retirement, and has been a revelation for the Utes offense, with 939 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. After just 22 carries through weeks one and two, and four weeks away from the game, Williams has 864 yards and all eight of his scores in the last four weeks.
The struggle is real for the 3-7 Ducks, especially on the defense, and it could cost Mark Helfrich his job. On the bright side for the Ducks, they may have a quarterback. Freshman Justin Herbert took over for grad transfer Dakota Prukop in October, and has been very productive. He is completing 63-percent of his throws on the year, and has 1,432 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.
