Nine year-old Rachel Beckwith had a huge heart. When she sat in church one day and heard Scott Harrison from charity, a talk about how kids her age in Africa didn’t have clean water to drink, she immediately decided to help. For her birthday, she asked her friends and family for donations instead of birthday presents - and she raised $220. A month later, Rachel was killed in a tragic car accident. After her death, thousands of people all around the world started donating to charity: water in her honor. Over the course of a month, more than $1.2 million was raised. It's been a year since the accident and to honor of the anniversary, Rachel’s mom and family visited Ethiopia and met some of the people Rachel helped. Rachel's selfless and giving spirit is an inspiration to millions and her legacy lives on!

Jesus says in Matt 25:40: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ The case of Rachel shows that when we help someone in their needs, we serve Jesus at the same time.

Other than physical thirst and hunger, we Christians often thirst more of Jesus in our lives. Therefore Jesus says: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35)
